Driving In Reverse 

Driving In Reverse is a bi-monthly event, taking in a variety of musical tones from the digital underground. 

Concentrating on exploring the dancefloor sonic aesthetic from as far left as possible without letting the rhythm lose its tempo, Driving In Reverse hopes to see bodies moving to sounds they perhaps wouldn’t usually dance to and surrender to a Shazam-less haze of the dancefloor shakes. 

Focusing on a core of four well-established  DJs, the event hopes to steadily expand its event line-up, extending its record-selecting duties to an eclectic list of guests and rhythm selectors. 

The four “horsemen” are:

Vercetti Technicolor/ Gianni Vercetti – A film composer, track producer, DJ and label co-owner (Giallo Disco Records), Gianni brings with him a wealth of cinematic and aggressive musical selections, guaranteed to satisfy the darkest of dancefloor emotions.

Hema Wolfe/Lucas Savvidis -  A veteran of the Athenian scene, Hema Wolfe is a DJ and producer who launched his EP Solid Black on Nein Records over the summer, kickstarting his release schedule that promises to be busy in 2025. Previously, he also conducted the soundscapes for darkwave-post-punk Athenian duo, The Rattler Proxy. 

Pene/Thanasis Besinis – Whenever you hear a slow-chugging groove emanating from an Athenian venue, it will usually mean that Pene is handling the selections. Owner and DJ of rapidly popular spot Radar, Pene continues to set the tone for a variety of decks throughout Athens and beyond, while also running his clothing label Reigning. 

The Man From On High/Gerard Papasimakopoulos – A multi-tasker by trade and a track selector by night, Gerard is usually the person that will drop a track that has no business being there, but somehow makes sense. A front man for the now defunct darkwave duo Rattler Proxy and also the Berlin based Modern Ruin, his passion for lates 70s – early 80s NYC colors most of his sets.
