Konstantinos Stouraitis
Konstantinos was born on the island of Rhodes in 1991 and started playing the guitar at a young age.
In 2009 he started studying at the Ionian University, where he received his first jazz training. Among his teachers was George Kontrafouris, who made him a member of his group Baby Trio, gave him the opportunity to record for the first time (Urban Jazz LP c- (Puzzlemusik, 2012). and perform at many venues and festivals in Greece and abroad.
In 2016 he was awarded the Fulbright scholarship to continue his studies at Queens College in New York, where he studied with Paul Bollenback, Peter Bernstein, Antonio Hart, and others and received a Master of Music in Jazz Studies in 2018.
He has studied with some of the most notable jazz musicians such as Peter Bernstein, Paul Bollenback, Bobby Broom, Antonio Hart etc. Konstantinos has performed or recorded with George Kontrafouris, Alkinoos Ioannidis, MC Yinka to name a few, as well as international artists such as Frank Lacy, Mike Clark, David Wong, Winard Harper, Emmet Cohen and others.
He has collaborated with many musicians of the Greek and international scene, such as Alkinoos Ioannidis, Takis Paterelis, Dimos Dimitriadis, Antonis Andreou, Dimitris Tsakas(see video), Vasilis Xenopoulos, Gilad Atzmo and more.
He has released two albums as a leader, Mr K (2020) and Red Room (2024). Konstantinos Stouraitis was awarded the Fulbright Foundation scholarship in 2016.
In 2020 he recorded his debut album as a leader, entitled “Mr. K.”.
