The internationally acclaimed saxophonist, composer, and researcher will present an unforgettable night of blues and ballads, featuring selections from his award-winning Candid Records discography, beloved jazz standards, and fresh material from his newly remastered release, Labyrinth – Daedalus Project.

This unique performance blends jazz improvisation, poetry, and storytelling, creating a captivating dialogue between music and spoken word.

Dimitris Vassilakis has recorded and performed live with world-class musicians such as Jeff “Tain” Watts, Essiet Essiet, Sylvia Cuenca, Ralph Peterson, Marc Johnson, David Liebman, Andy Sheppard, Benito Gonzales, Theo Hill, Dave Kikoski, Abdullah Ibrahim, and Espen Berg.

With four award-winning albums on the historic jazz label Candid Records, he has appeared at renowned venues and festivals including Dizzy’s Club Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland, London Jazz Festival, Smithsonian Institute, Jazz Showcase, Stavros Niarchos Foundation, and the Athens & Thessaloniki Concert Halls.

Additionally, he has presented the “Jazz Democracy” forum at the United Nations and is the founder of the Rhodes & South Aegean International Jazz Festival (RIJF).
