TAKIS PATERELIS (Saxophone)
He was born in Athens in 1965. At the age of 6 he started taking lessons in classical piano at the Athens Conservatory. In 1984 he got his diploma with a unanimous excellent. Since 1982 he occupied himself with the study of saxophone and jazz music. During 1991 and 1992 he attended lessons of saxophone and jazz composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston, with teachers Andy McGhee, Herb Pomeroy, Jeff Friedman, Paul Fontaine and Billy Pierce.
He has collaborated with the most remarkable jazz musicians in Greece (such as George Trantalidis, Minas Alexiadis, Yiorgos Fakanas, Markos Alexiou, Takis Farazis, Kyriakos Sfetsas and George Kontrafouris), as well as with famous artists from abroad (John Hicks, Hamid Drake, Chip Jackson, Manny Boyd, Danny Hayes, Tony Lakatos, Bella Lakatos, Jimmy Cobd).
"Funky People" a duo album with George Kontrafouris was released in 1991. His first personal album "Let the blues talk" was released in 2000. Since 1993 he is teaches at the Phillipos Nakas Conservatory.
MARIOS SPYROU (Drums)
Marios Spyrou is a Cypriot drummer, based in Nicosia. He completed his Master’s Degree in the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag. He followed several workshops and private lessons with many influential Jazz musicians, such as Eric Ineke, Joseph Farnsworth, George Fludas, Leroy Williams, Adam Nussbaum, Barry Harris, and Harold Maybern.
He has collaborated with Cypriot and European jazz musicians in venues and festivals in Cyprus and abroad (U.K, Greece, Italy, Holand, Belgium).
