XTRACAVANZA with DJ Nicola Lavacca

The country (and possibly Europe) can thank Nicola for a number of firsts: the first mixed compilation, the first remix, the first Greek maxi single, the first time a DJ went into the studio and became a sought-after producer, and the first time a DJ MCed while performing.

Plus, he was the one who brought the first Technics MK2 to Greece.

“Παίζει ο Λάβακα” (Lavacca is playin'), was the most common late night talk phrase in town back in the hot disco days of the legendary Aftokinissi and Divina disco clubs.

We are now together, giving this iconic phrase a new meaning, welcoming all music lovers and dancefloor enthusiasts to a new disco era led by the man who started it all, literally.

More about the legend around the name NICOLA LAVACCA:

In 1978, Nicola Lavacca relocated to Greece from Italy's premier nightclubs Divina and Mais, and he became a disc jockey in Athens's most prestigious establishments, including: STUDIO 4, ANNABELLA, TROPICALIA, DIVINA, CAR, AKROTIRI, CAMEL CLUB, CLUB 22 and more.

He spent three years in New York City working for various clubs, and has produced over forty albums and remixes since, having being named Director of Guest 

Repertoire at C.B.S. (SONY). His DISCO DYNAMITE 1,2,3,4 (four vinyl plated LP) has become platinum and gold.

He has produced and remixed music in collaboration with KOSTAS CHARITODIPLOMENOS, MANTO, MARIANNA, NIKOS KARVELAS, SHARP TIES, DREAMER AND FULL MOON.

As a radio producer for SUPER FM 89.8 he dominated the audience charts for two consecutive years (1991 -1992); produced shows for RADIO GOLD 105 back and was in charge of STAR FM until 2000.

He has been hosting music nights across Greece ever since.
